Block paving and security post, Wylde Green
The brief
A 1970s detached on the Wylde Green side of B73. The owner’s vehicle had been stolen from the existing gravel driveway in the early hours one weekend; the family wanted a new driveway with a security post built in from the start, fitted within a sensible timeframe of the theft.
We took the enquiry on the Monday, visited that afternoon, quoted same evening, and started on the Wednesday of the following week. The new driveway was completed and the security post commissioned within 13 calendar days of the original phone call.
What we proposed
- Full excavation of the gravel and contaminated soil.
- MOT Type 1 sub-base in compacted layers.

- Telescopic security post sited at the natural entry point, with the socket concrete-set into the sub-base before any blocks were laid, so the post is integral to the build-up rather than a retrofit.
